Ravine ear buds

Hi,

The Ravine was mentioned in your earlier thread.

It seems @Jester560 uses/likes them. The "pro" version has 31 db noise reduction. That's pretty good. My Axil buds have 29 db reduction. My Mack's foam ear plugs have 33 db noise reduction.

A good ear-protecting active ear bud, like ear muffs, will allow you to hear ambient sound, or even amplify ambient sound, while suppressing loud noises very quickly. My Axil units do this well at the indoor range, without picking up too much exhaust fan noise. If we trust the numbers, the Ravine should do a little better.

It seems the Ravine Field Ops Pro units are having some kind of sale. For that price, it wouldn't be a very expensive mistake if it turned out you didn't like them. Not all ears are built for these ear buds. Fitment is sometimes an issue.

OK, I'll stop talking about what I don't know. ;) Good luck.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Hi,

Thanks cliff I forget it’s still on my list cause I don’t really like ear muffs sorry bud

I understand. I've got a pair of Howard Leight ear muffs that work pretty well. I use the gell inserts for the ear covers so they are as comfortable as possible but are still quite bulky. They're a pain if you have to wear them too long. That's why I tried the Axil buds. They work for me. When these break or wear out I'll probably try a different ear bud system. It's more comfortable for me. To each his own. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

I forget are you axil ones Bluetooth?

Hi,

I forget are you axil ones Bluetooth?

Yes, mine have the capability but I've never used it. When I'm training I silence my phone anyway. I don't listen to music while practicing or training. One of these days I'll try to connect my phone to check sound quality. I suppose there might be a situation where I'd need communication and ear protection at the same time.

That’s the way I want to use them. I know they say that ravine out the box no need Bluetooth I like that

The Ravine Field Ops are worth the price of admission. I use them at the range and while hunting. They are waterproof and 1 charging lasts up to 40 hours. I gave away my Axils away to another shooter with a limited budget.
