Aero Precision, Ballistic Advantage, Stag Arms, & VG6 Finally Kick the Bucket​

In some maybe less surprising news, Aero Precision, Ballistic Advantage, Stag Arms, and VG6 came out in a joint statement last week to announce they are going through a receivership process while transitioning to new ownership. What does this mean? Basically they were deep enough into financial doo doo that the court has appointed folks over them to sort stuff out. Kinda like when your parents' argument is so intense the cops get involved.

Though J.S. Held LLC has been appointed as the receiver at this time, the new ownership has not been announced. Have these 4 companies joined Delton and forever have their doors closed? Was this mismanagement or is this more evidence of the gun industry shrinking due to the poor economy? Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Well, there Is the fact that everybody and their Aunt Maude are/were making AR’s. Combine that with the tremendous drop off in demand in the last couple years and some are going out of business. 5 years ago local LGS had a wall full of AR’s of every make and description. Yesterday there were TWO. Tons of lever rifles , a couple mini’s, and a mini 30 on that same wall, along with new production Trapdoors and three Rolling Blocks😳. Seems pretty much anyone that wants an AR HAS one (or 2 or 3 or…).

I first noticed it a couple years ago-went to a good size gun show and AR’s (and AK’s) were conspicuous by their absence. Buddy who runs the LGS has repeatedly said the AR market is “dead”-he sells half a dozen lever guns and bolt actions for every AR-just a few years ago it was exactly opposite, with AR’s being THE main selling rifle. And this is in a state without silly rules/regs against those scary black rifles.

The last time Trump was in office firearm sales dropped so low many manufacturers were dropping prices to practically cost to build. If I remember correctly the HK VP9 had been in the market for about a year. The price went from $800 to a smidge over $400.
I almost bought one just because. LoL. Ammo also had dropped precariously low. Quite a few distributors were hurting. I remember buying 500 rounds of 45 ACP for less than $90. Green tipped 5.56 was give away price for 250rds. Then Covid hit and you couldn't buy anything, anywhere.
The Democrats drive sales then everyone takes a breather when the Republicans come back into office. The problem is during the Democrat crazy years the manufacturers crank up manufacturing and then they're sitting on all this stuff when the Republicans come back in.
Rinse and repeat.

Its like anything. Folks get a few and use them for awhile and get bored.
Whats cool that I have not tried… for AR folks, thats why most. rifles of all types went “tactical” to entice the AR crowd.
