Red Dot for Mod3's

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. There are specific adapter plates for different types of optics.

Springfield sells four different plates to fit most optic footprints. What are you trying to fit?

Personally, I like the C&H products. They have a nice installation kit and tools too.

Let us know what optic you want to fit and we'll try to point you toward the right adapter plate. Thanks for joining us.

Well, my friend gave me this optic and I it's a chinese knock off. There's no name on it or any indentifiers. Would a picture of the foot print help find a plate?

The pictures help. Thanks! I'm not familiar with that logo but if someone recognizes it, it should be easy enough to figure out what footprint it uses. Let me see if I can find that logo somewhere.

Looks like that might be a Riton optic (link to products below). One footprint search (Duck Duck Go Search assistant) provided the following:
"Riton optics, such as the 3 Tactix series, typically use specific mounting footprints like the RMR or RMSc standards, which determine how they can be attached to various firearms. It's important to match the footprint of the optic with the cutout on your firearm for proper installation."

SA XD Mod 3 looks like they do sell RMR plates, but contacting Riton may provide the correct footprint for that plate/firearm. Full disclosure: I neither own a SA Mod 3 nor a Riton optic so take this as search information I came across only.

Hi,

I'm trying to find some generic specs for the differet footprings. Maybe with some measuring you can figure out what you've got.

This RMSc footprint, as @BET7 mentioned, looks like your Chinese optic.

I'll leave it at that and offer a couple of links to pages that explain all the different standards. It's a lot, but might help.

Once you figure out what footprint your optic is using, just buy the proper plate for the slide. The RMSc plate (#2) for the Mod.3 seems to be sold out at the Springfield store...

EDIT: Wow, those Riton optics are not cheap.

Hi,

Here's another pic showing size difference.

Is that optic possibly an older model of this?...

If so, it is an RMSc footprint. However, on their recommended plate webpage, I don't see any mention of the XD OSP...

...and Springfield's page shows the RMSc (plate #2) currently sold out.

Maybe you can contact Riton and see if they have a recommendation.

That's all I got for tonight. ;)

Does anyone know who besides Holosun makes optics to fit the Mod3?
I ordered the plate, but the 2 optics I have don't fit.

I have the Vortex Defender CCW, and it's mounted via the #2 plate from Springfield, which as has been stated, is currently out of stock...

It's a pretty small Red Dot, but for it's size the window is reasonable, there are probably better ones, but this one works well for me, and doesn't seem out of place on the gun.

Crappy iPhone pics....

I have the Riton tactix mprd 3 on my Xd.
Emblem is a match, but my emblem is up on the side near the front, not on the rear as yours. Mine is rmsc footprint. Hope that helps.

It's a good optic, in my opinion.

Hi,

No, I think it might be chinese= no logo-nothing

Yes, it's made in China, like most electronics. The logo on your optic is the Riton logo. I think it's a few years old, hence the different location of the logo when compared to newer models.

Thank you for your indulgence,
