Even among competitive shooters, opinions vary. Some was 8 to 12 MOA, others want 2 to 3.
I personally prefer 4 to 6 MOA - big enough to see at speed, but not so big I can’t aim at a specific part of the a zone on a target or a 10” plate at a distance.
On a rifle not for competition, I like 2 or 3 MOA. I’m wanting a small dot for a small point in a small target.
I have an astigmatism, and getting progressive lenses for everyday use and for shooting glasses made all the difference in the world. With the astigmatism correction, every dot and reticle is crystal clear.
