80 years ago. Memorial Day 1945 – “After four months of fierce fighting on Luzon, these 11th Airborne Division ‘Angels’ attend a Memorial Day Service for their fallen brothers held in Batangas. Their faces say it all.”

Activated on 25 February 1943, the 11th entered combat in the PTO on 25 May 1944 and suffered 2,431 casualties in 204 days of combat.

If you have time this documentary on Desmond Doss is worth every minute.

Desmond Doss is probably the most famous 7th-day Adventist aside from Ben Carson. He sure made his guardian angels earn their overtime! Stepped on a grenade to save a wounded warrior, and the grenade only slowed him down. Anyone who hasn't watched Hacksaw Ridge needs to stop what you're doing right now and go see it!
