Actually, you're not completely out to sea with the Russell Johnson mention. Peart's so-called resemblance to Johnson was part of the reason for the moniker, alongside his voracious reading appetite and higher than average intellect. Cheers.

That was Roy Hinkley. Believe it or don't, he was a cousin to a Senior Chief Corpsman I worked for back in 1980.
