retired, public workers in WA state, to be taxed

under the "millionaire's tax" in Washington state, retired public workers (listen to the partial list) will now be taxed in thier retirement.....on thier pensions

where they were once exempt.......

if this can happen up there in WA state, this can happen in other states...NY state has a millionaire's tax, so does RI, but i do not know if they can now tax thier retired public workers pensions.......


watch out all you retired public workers........fight against such a "millionaire's tax"

With my OPERS pension, I have to pay federal and state income tax on it…..

my NAVY retainer is TAXED, FICA comes out every month.
which pisssees me off as its taxable ...... but not considered income that i can use to put money in my ira

What angers me is that I paid taxes on the earnings way back when, then when sleepy was in office, some Adam Henry thought look at the income people are getting and they aren't paying taxes to us to give away for our social program of robbery hood. So when the auto pen was turned on, this crap was signed, taking taxes out of the retirement I've already paid taxes on! Then to see it be squandered and stolen from us, just winds up my total disdain for the government!

my retainer, taxes the actual pay each month from military, we dont have an account with xxxx dollars in it,
but folks with an account you paid payroll taxes on... were your contributions to the retirement account taxed or tax free?
it gets very confusing in a minute.
va pension is different animal as its compensation or reparations or something because we are damaged from serving, so presently its not taxed, but some states have you list in on your taxes.. although they cant use it as tax base or for other means

My pension was both post and pre taxes. I knew prior to retirement that I would have to pay taxes for about 40% of the pension. Now you know why my CPA only wants me in the office to sign the paperwork and keep my BP on an even keel.
