Review: Springfield XD Mod.4 OSP 9mm

Don’t forget the refined ergonomic differences!
They seem to just be using different words for the same thing.

Like talking about the "refined 3 slot rail with extra indexing"... we can see from the side by side the rail is exactly the same. Other than the slide serration they pretty much look like the exact same gun. I wouldn't be surprised if you could swap out the slides on them without any issues at all. And the feature list on their site says the exact same thing for both triggers. When the Mod.3 came out the exact same words were used "Deeper, More aggressive" to describe the serration over the Mod.2.

I really do think they're just losing the profit margin over tariffs, and using the popularity (which is mostly due to the $325 MSRP to begin with) to re-release the same gun at a higher price.

I’m not arguing with you…that was meant to be a totally sarcastic comment (refined ergonomics). It’s all marketing speak - and every manufacturer uses it, some are just more silly about it. I’m sure they changed enough on it they can’t be sued for false advertising…

Thanks for this side by side view. Other than the obvious slide serrations and contour changes the sights and frame appear exactly the same.

I have the Mod.3 nut have no comments on it as I have yet to shoot it. The only mod to it is the addition of a Holosun 407k-gr 6moa dot. I haven't sighted it in yet.

The mod.4 looks good. I like the deeper serrations and flat faced trigger from the factory. I will probably update the trigger in my Mod.3 soon.

Thanks for the article!
The mod 3 and 4 appear to have the same exact trigger. I may have to get a 4 to compare to my mod 3 (Only for comparison purposes obviously) 😉
