This is admittedly not an important topic, but I'm trying to find out a certain type of rifle that was used in a movie. There's a movie called "Southern Comfort" made in 1981 starring Keith Carradine, Peter Coyote, Powers Boothe, Fred Ward. It's a really good movie about a squad of Louisiana National Guardsmen that get lost in the swamps of Louisiana and end up in a running gun battle with some local Cajun hunters that one of the Guardsman fires a bunch of blanks at as a joke.
Anyway, the rifles the Cajun hunters use in this movie are fascinating. They look to have a hexagonal or maybe octagonal barrel and look to be single shot, breech loaded with maybe a 45.70 round or something similar. Anyway, I've been looking around and can't find any credits from the movies indicating what types of rifles they used. I know it's a long shot but thought I'd ask here and see if anyone has seen the movie and might recognize what kind of rifles they used. Thanks.
