Interesting article on gun sales in the country. Problem is there is improper reporting and terminology. This leads to the common phrase “assault weapons”.

from the end of the article. This reporter uses the term Automatic guns. Which is a false statement

“Police departments across the country are reporting seizures of more powerful automatic or semiautomatic-style guns with larger magazines, he said, weapons that have a much higher probability of killing because of how quickly the rounds can be fired. He said it is not uncommon for dozens of casings to be found at a crime scene.”

" ................ " from the end of the article. This reporter uses the term Automatic guns. Which is a false statement

Thanks for the read KF, and the term "Automatic guns" is not the only inaccuracy he commits either. He goes on to talk about how these guns "have a higher probability of killing because of how quickly the rounds can be fired", which at the most basic level can be true, but not necessarily so. Neither does he bother to mention how that quick reloading also leads to very inaccurate shooting or 'spray and pray', which likely saves many lives in the long run from these kinds of shoots.

He's obviously very typical of those many who have an agenda against guns, but has so little practical knowledge of them that he is totally impotent when trying to write about them.

The only thing he actually got right is that "it is not uncommon for dozens of casings to be found at a crime scene.”, but that's due to the total asininity of those doing the shooting, and has nothing to do with the gun.

Thanks for posting KF,
A "perfect storm" in some ways? There are many reasons that continue to go unsaid for the most part besides a virus. Big one is evidently spurred on by the lack of firearms safety, training and education among the masses as being responsible for the lousy reporting and events? Why is that education, readiness and right being swept under the rug?

Another obvious reason is many people are hearing mixed messages of uncertainty from various sources and in various places throughout the whole country from more than one different angle including government? Why does it matter? That uncertainty can breed defensive nature from many to most people building distrust. Another message that may be being sent is many people may be fearful of an overly oppressive system concerning gun rights so they try and prepare the best way they can by sending a message of their own by purchasing more and more firearms and ammunition? In effect, voting with their wallets when their words and thoughts appear to go unheard? Heavy gun and ammo purchasing's as widespread as the actual virus and in some ways and may be a virus of it's own in other ways? Are many reasons have noticed and heard, those are just a few of many.

Am not feeling or seeing gun issues going away anytime soon. Possibly being relaxed somewhat, but not going away anytime soon sending another mixed message to others that the others may tend to purposely misinterpret, ignore or fail to understand we have the right to defend ourselves, loved ones and our property?
