I bought a Ronin 1911 commander size 9mm some time ago. After the break in I took it to a gunsmith to install an Ed Brown Bobtail housing. The first gunsmith did not do a very good job blending it with the frame. It needed to be cerakoted so I took it to Chris at Letz Hunt & Sport Inc in Springfield, Illinois. He is factory certified in cerakoting. He blended the housing to the frame. Did a real nice job and the cerakote job was excellent. Installed Fusion thin rosewood grips. Recently, I bought a 38 super drop in barrel with link from Jarvis, Inc. Excellent product. Recessed crown. Installed it my Ronin with an Ed Brown drop in bushing and 18lb recoil spring. Fits perfect. Tight lock up. Took it to the range today. Used Ed Brown magazines I bought through their magazine trade in program. Check it out. Have steel no-tilt followers. Underwood Ammo in 38 super with 124 gr bonded HPs runs true at 1350 per second (Item 143). Runs like a dream. Rick
 
Did the same thing with a RIA gun in 9mm a few years ago
Was being dense and bid on and won 2 9mm guns ... Opps
Decided to convert the GI version over to 38 Super. Did a complete slide swap and added some lower frame parts as well. The slide fit the frame better than the original one did. Runs great and I can swap the barrel back to 9mm if I want as well.

I love that round. It should be more popular, but too many people say “I’d like to try one someday” and never do.
