Ruger Discontinues 19 Models… Why??

i personally have no ill issues with Ruger..i like my Vaquero, that shoots 45 Colt, and i like my GP 100 2.5" 38/357.

i once had a SR 1911, but i parted ways with that, for no other reason than to just part ways.

i dunno, maybe many of them will come back in the future..but if they do not, then i see that as the death knell for the overall future of the long historied brand. not too many brands can claim fame for being around over 75 years, (nearly a century) right here in the good ole USofA.

This seems to be the question of the day. Nobody seems to know just what is going on, but there's plenty of speculation. Beretta is attempting a hostile take over. Ruger is thinning out some slow selling models, They're only temporarily dropping some models while they update old machines, Ruger may be moving some of their manufacturing to other states, etc and so on. Take your pick. Could be anything.
For whatever reason, they're keeping it quite for now.
Whatever Ruger is up to, you can bet they'll just come back stronger. Most people forget that Ruger is one of the biggest investment casting companies in the world for many things and companies completely outside of the gun world. That alone will keep them going forever.
Don't worry. Ruger will be back and as strong as ever.

I pray you are right. I would like to have a 7 1/2" Ruger Redhawk at a reasonable price.

Does Beretta really have enough stock to dictate?
Ruger recently bought all the intellectual property rights to Anderson manufacturing in Hebron Kentucky. I'm sure most items selling will be resurrected. I had heard they were looking to stream line their manufacturing process and retool. I'm sure with cowboy action shooting and precision rifle matches doing well I cannot see them leaving that market.
I'm sure they have their share of machines that are multiple decades old and cost prohibited to keep going.

Colt was smart (based on feedback from CZ) to resurrect the revolver line(s) although their Diamondback is still not the original frame size.

Still waiting for Colt to make the 41 Mag in the Anaconda...again in more numbers.

Even in a saturated 1911 market at least they offer some interesting variations.

I think us revolver nuts all want that.

It would certainly go a long way towards moving me off the fence to buy a Colt 2.0 product.

I do have 2 consecutively numbered RedHawks in 41 Magnum, so it would take a lot to convince me I just need an Anaconda in 41.

@Anchorite

Some say the trigger pull on the Gen 2 Python's are no where as nice as the originals, like mine.

I have an original 44 mag Anaconda, so if they made a Gen 2 41 Mag I'd take a hard look at it.

The extremely rare Gen 1 41 Mag Anaconda.

or S&W needs to make another run of the 657 Stealth Hunter.

I have 2 Gen 1 Pythons and no real desire to get a Gen 2. From some very reliable sources the Gen2 Pythons need action work (Heffron precision) and a real sight upgrade (Wilson) right from the box … so spending upwards of $1500 and still having to get the trigger worked and better sights just isn’t appealing enough to me.

I have a Gen 1 Anaconda in 45 Colt, a 6”.

I’ve never heard they made a run of 41 Anacondas, so that is rare indeed.
I’d love to see the Colt letter on that one.

I have 15 Ruger handguns so I guess I'm good until we find out what is really happening. Hadn't realized I accumulated that many.
