Ruger Discontinues 19 Models… Why??

And we see that S&W has acquired Savage.

That is a head-scratcher for me.

As a long-time T/C user I was ecstatic when S&W acquired them, thinking the line would expand and there would be a lot more options listed in the lineup, only to be disappointed when management let the line die on the vine.

I have been reluctant to give them any more of my hard-earned money since they stopped making the 3rd Gen semi-autos. Pffffttttt!

Are we entering a time of corporate consolidation? Who knows. Only time will tell, I guess.

Ruger has let me down in the past.....like when they stopped making the P-series pistols. And some of their other bone-headed moves like an 8-shot Redhawk in 357. Why not a 6 shot?
And why in Hades the 22 Hornet Super Redhawk?

Dropping other models has puzzled me many a sleepless night.

It could be to stay relevant in the 357 8 shot market - both S&W and Taurus make an 8 shot 357 - but I am guessing here

The motivation for any business is to stay relevant to the market. In that market, is Smith, Taurus, Charter Arms, and others I don't know of. That's quite a bit of solid competition.
And I thought the idea was to make a profit.

No, seriously, I get what you are suggesting. And maybe that's true, but I don't see that many revolvers for sale in any LGS or local gun shows. It's almost as if only old fuds shoot them wheel guns anymore.

Personally I think this is the new kinda normal for now.

Didn’t the ammo manufacturing go through this and the last buy up was Ammo inc.?

Honestly it can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you are talking too.
