Ruptured case

I went back and found the cases from the post I had made previous. The first two seemed like OOB’s but the last one, the case on the right was the one that blew my bolt apart. It appears to have failed on the bottom of the case. These happed over 15 or 20 years with different guns and a couple different types of ammo.

I contacted Walther and the rep on the phone told me that a ruptured case because of failure to fully battery is a normal thing with rimfire ammo. I got the impression that he was blaming me for the failure and when I told him that the slide was damaged from the incident he asked if it could have been damaged previously. Not the best experience talking to a customer service rep but they did send a shipping label so I can ship them the pistol to have it inspected after I insisted that they should take a look at it. The rep on the phone asked what ammo I used and I told him that it was Winchester Super-X he said that is an ammo that they do not recommend for that pistol and he sent me a chart showing what ammo is recommended and what isn't.

I'd like to know why?
Most manufacturers ONLY recommend Win Super X for their .22 magnums. I will not mention the firearm or the manufacturer but when I told them I was using CCI 22 mag, they told me that was the worst ammunition I could use.

I had this 22 WMR failure about 10 years ago in an old FIE (2 cylinders, 22LR, 22WMR) revolver given to me by my FIL before he passed away.
I forget what the ammo brand was but about the 3rd shot of the 22WMR it blew out the back of the revolver an

d actually broke a piece of metal off the pistol frame right next to the firing pin, right where it needs to be supporting the back of the casing. The cylinder was all jammed up and I had to fight with it for quite a while to get the cylinder to move at all so I could unload it and drop the cylinder out.

I know it's a dirt cheap gun and not worth fixing but it's the 22 WMR ammo failure that caused the failure and damage to the revolver frame.
