Do you remember roughly what year it was made? I ask because when I bought my 457, there was a great sale so I bought two at the same time. I had a slam fire with one of them and put a round into my safe when I was loading it. I called S&W the next day and asked if they'd had any similar complaints. They said no but asked me to send mine in. They did find an issue and actually admitted it to me. When I told them I bought two at the same time, they asked me to send the second one in for inspection. I never sent it and also never carried it. It essentially stayed NIB in the safe. When I lost 150 pounds of ugly fat off my rear, she took it in the divorce. Till this very day I hope to hear she tried to load that thing up and...........
 
I am not a DA auto fan at all, but I love the 3913. When I lived back to Indiana from IL in 1994 and could concealed carry again, that’s what I bought first.

That one came and went, then I bought another. It went away also, but I’ve browsed around on Gunbroker for another.

Nice little guns.

I got the gun about 1990 and got rid of it around 1995 or so.

I was curious if our pistols may have had related issues. I got my 457 sometime between 1988 and 1991. The only reason I can pin it to that timeframe is because I bought it when I lived at a particular house and those were the years I lived there. I bought the house in 1988 and sold it when i got married in 1991.
