I had the Echelon, sold it just recently, for me just a tad bulky, shot ok, but I’m used to the Glock trigger on polymer guns, especially on the Gen 5, just meWell today was interesting and I have come to a conclusion about the Echelon. But first let me add I brought the XDm elite in 9mm and 10mm to compare.

I will say this

I’ll stick with the XDm line up for now.
My first gun is an Echelon. I have the 4.5F. Good gun. As you said, it can be a little bulky, particularly in the grip, but that can be helped a little by swapping out the back strap. The majority of the weight is in the slide and barrel. The rest of the gun is light as can be. Packs a good punch too. I liked the extended trigger guard with the inward rounding, which almost works like a secondary finger grip for my outer hand. Helps with the recoil and steadying my aim. Here's a couple clips worth from when I was zeroing in my dot sight. You know those people who get beat up by their other half, but always take them back because they think that’s love? Same thing with Glocks.I had the Echelon, sold it just recently, for me just a tad bulky, shot ok, but I’m used to the Glock trigger on polymer guns, especially on the Gen 5, just me
You mean he shoulda got the Echelon with VP9 on the slide? I agree!Well ya got the wrong color Echelon for one thing.

Ya might get one of them other Modules from a couple of makers, but dang those things are expensive. i will agree with you on the elite feeling better to shoot.
You're gonna need a new target, that one has a bunch of holes in it. Get yourself a HiPoint, your targets, will last a lot longer
YesSo If I got a skittles style Echelon you’d take it?
Five warning shots is a little excessive. You think that one was holy.

That’s from the XDm with all 5-20 round magazines
That could explain some handling differences. I think the FC is the one with the beefier full sized frame that allows you to get the 4.5F's ammo capacity, but also has the shorter compact model's 4" barrel. So the frame could feel a bit oversized for the gun compared to the average compact handgun. Have you tried switching in the smaller sized backstrap? I found that helped alot for me and my short sausage fingers. They dont look very different, but those small changes do make a difference in comfort. My only problem is that when anything that says “full size”, I have no issue but this one might be the “FC”. The XDm’s I have are all full size and I can stick my hands on them and still have room to play.
