Not to get immersed into religious topics, but it seems that there tends to be a rule that is the foundation for all other rules that follow. It’s the bedrock, the reason for all the rest.

I'm also a huge proponent of the often-seen addition to number four, "always be sure of your target and what lies beyond." Certainly a sensible notion, to say the least, that should always be included and considered.
