"To prevent death or serious bodily injury" was certainly in play here for the 2 hostages and possibly others. A tough call for law enforcement but, in my opinion, the right one. Glad to see the sniper placed on administrative leave, to give him time to work through it, and hope he'll realize that he saved at least one, possibly two or more innocent lives.
