My girlfriend made a Tommy Gun in high school woodshop. I still have it somewhere out in the garage. Can you imagine a kid trying to make a wooden firearm replica these days?!!!

I carried a 7" blade in a sheath on my side every day all 4 years of highschool. When I was old enough to drive I drove my fathers truck with a rifle in a gun rack in the back window.
Either one of those today would cause massive hysteria and a possible SWAT interaction.

Yup, sure would. Buddy and I 12-15 age timeframe, would regularly ride our bicycles across town with 20 gauge autos across the handlebars to go squirrel/dove hunting. Nobody thought anything about it. Today the loonies would lose their little minds and a good percentage of Cops’d shoot ya when you stopped to talk to ‘em. Different ( and much better) times
