The Tyler T grip adapters are still available. But I've heard rumors about delivery times being lengthy...

I don't know if the aluminum model is still made, but I know you can get the polymer models. It's a very model specific item, so order accordingly.

THis pre 27 came from Mrs Greener's grandfather. It left the factory shortly after S&W stopped doing registered magnums due to admin costs. I carried it for a while as an off duty. The Model 27 5 inch below was the model of my duty revolver in 1978. The pre 27 is a solid shooter and a formidable partner while hunting miscreants. The fit, finish, and heft says serious business. The whole development of the gun and round for LEO's grew out of a need for a serious gun for serious LE work.

The grip adapter never worked for me, I think because I have big meat hooks and I took them off guns that had them. I think I may have a couple in my junk drawer. A lot of officers swore by them, though, gun fit is important
