Shooting for Larry

Annual LEOSA quals are, coming up in a couple weeks. My late good friend Larry, who was a retired DEA instructor and fellow instructor, and I always shot it together at the sheriff's range. I could never match his skills and was still trying to catch up to him when he passed. The Sheriff's instructors looked at our targets and always commented that they wished their deputies could shoot like that. Anyway, every year since he has been gone I feel an obligation to hold up his end. Since I retired from my training business I find it harder to get in the practice that I once did, but I have been sneaking in a few sessions lately. This year I am qualifying with both .45 pistol and .38 revolver. Not up to Larry's standards but I still have a couple weeks to get better. The head shots are CQB drills at the end. Still hanging in there for an old man.

I think the target on the right is dead!! Good shooting, and it’s great you are keeping his spirit going with the shoots.
