Shotgun Duckbill

Yes Yes Yes. It was a cool idea for combat, maybe not so much for PDs where there may be friendlies nearby; although I have turned the gun sideways (gangsta style) for a foot to head pattern.

OK for you guys with me this far, whos heard of the Remington 7188?

I shot one, impossible to control. or it was for me.
I have a clone-ish copy in semi only. I tried to duplicate the feel and performance of full auto by firing as fast as I could. I positioned a target at 15 feet and started by aiming at the ankles then let recoil raise the muzzle. By the end of the mag I was at head level. Im confident I could have done better with burst control but my intent was a mag dump.

As I recall they made six versions, 3 select fire and 3 semi only. After that the differences were handguard or not and rifle sight or bead. The story is the Navy (SEALs) tried a few but the semis were intended for civilian PD sales.

To be honest i didnt know what a 7188 was so i googled it. After seeing a pic of it i knew it was one i shot many years ago. Dont know what kind of ammo i shot either. I tried shouldering it and seen it was a handful

And for kicks how'bout the Rhodesian Auto 5

Not really Rhodesian; but made famous there. It was a FN/Browning Auto 5 made for police and military sales that got around UN sanctions by way of Portugal and Sout Afrika. Essentially a beefed up Auto 5. The famous ones had an extended magazine AND extended forearm; but there were probably more "regular" Auto 5's with standard mag tube and 24" barrel used.
