Small Arms of the Viet Cong

Very interesting read and shows that with skill and necessity, a dedicated force can employ a vast degree of weapons and munitions against their enemies. It's truly amazing the shear number of different weapons and clamberings they were able to adapt to their needs, quite impressive.

As you can see a whole book was compiled that featured the dozens of types of weapons SF could expect to encounter in Southeast Asia.

Great article...Thanks!

Here is a copy of the U. S. Army Special Forces Foreign Weapons Handbook

That original looks beautiful! There are a couple for sale on eBay right now.

As far as guerilla warfare in 2021 America?

I like to listen to an anarchists / Antifa related podcast. They were talking about using home made modified explosive mini drones against a military or civilian opposition that would fight them. They are always thinking! Don't know in the Vietnam jungle if drones would have done much good in the thick of it.

Drone technology could have been effective in the open/paddie areas. How about a manned "Birddog" drone? There was one birddog chopper pilot known to find "holes" in jungle canopy, drop down thru it, and fly around in the jungle below the canopy on recon and also would engage the enemy with munitions dropped from the chopper or a personal weapon ( how's that for a mammoth set?) then exit thru another (or the same) hole and fly away into the blue. Another documented FO birddog pilot got p***** at a lone VC sniping at him; he landed, got out, dispatched the enemy with his sidearm, re boarded and took off!
