The last savage I bought was maybe 8 years ago in 338lm. It's a very good firearm and was better than expected! Being a Winchester rifle fan i didn't know what to really expect, but was enjoying how well it shot (300wm ba/le 26" 110 action) so much I bought another in a stealth model (24"). The 300wm was bought 12 years ago then another 300wm and 338lm making 3 factory rifles. Liked the 110 actions enough i bought 2 actions (action, bottom metal and mag kit) to build another 300wm then my favorite cartridge of all times the 264wm.

Well, hopefully S&W won’t mess up Savage like they did with Thompson Center when they purchased them….

I never got into savage and had my fix of S&W when they still occupied the SA plant in Massachusetts.

All mySavages are Model 99's, although they make a cool looking 1911.

Savage has produced some very good firearms over the years. I believe the 99 is one of the best lever action rifles ever made.

I have mixed feelings about this. Savage makes fine rifles and deserves to go on. But with the changes S&W has made and the serious slippage of their CQ over the last decade or so, I worry they may mess Savage up.
