I thought the XD mod.2 would replace the std XD but didn't.

To be fair, the 911 was probably discontinued due to many people having issues with them. Though my buddy has one that’s had no issues. He loves it. Still, an exorbitant amount of people reported issues with them.

I’m still waiting for my XDM Elite to come back from SA. They were super fast at getting me the RMA, and I’m not in a rush. It was right before SHOT week, so I’m not expecting anything for a while.

Yeah I've wanted the 3.8 full grip 9mm and with OSP since the Elites came out but they never offered that. They did offer it but never OSP. Oh well

That’s exactly why I bought the 3.8 OSP compacts in 9mm, 10mm and 45 and added the extension mags. Feels like the full grip and you can revert back to compact easy.Yeah I've wanted the 3.8 full grip 9mm and with OSP since the Elites came out but they never offered that. Yeah thought about doing that a couple times but just didn't. I have the original XD-M 3.8 full grip and wanted the same but in the Elite OSP. Oh well.
I bought an older XDM OSP 9mm used for like $250. Swapped recoil spring (which I need to do again now) Added PRP trigger and a stainless steel guide rod. It’s one heck of a shooter. Never did buy an elite. Although the extended grip safety would be nice. Almost but bought other guns. I don’t love the plate for mounting optic but it has not come off yet.
I am not supersized to see the xdm elites go the wayside due to the echelon, especially the 9mm versions. I’m not sure how easily the echelon or long it will take Springfield to convert it to other calibers. I do like the new fde grip modules. I am still mad that the xdm mags won’t work though.
I can’t decided between an M&P 2.0 5-inch fde or wait for the fde echelon version. Maybe next year not in a hurry but I will add one or the other at some point.
