Springfield Amory Omega 10mm field strip

hello, new to this forum. About 20 years ago i inherited an omega 10 mm from my dad. it has been in storage ever since. i know for a fact this gun was never fired because my dad would make me clean all his guns after he has used them. so with the recent events in the country, i have had a renewed interest in firearms and decided to go through my dads entire inventory. i started to clean and lube each one of them. when i got the the omega, i decided since i have never taken this gun apart before its best i go on line and get some info on how to field strip this gun. i tried google and youtube with no luck. as i am fairly familiar with many guns but i am not with the omega. i would appreciate it if anyone here can either point me in the right direction or explain to me what i need to do. keep in mind that i have been out of the loop for nearly 20 years and i may not be familiar with certain terminologies.

from what i remember, this gun looks (i could be wrong...just from memory) similarly designed like a beretta 92. so if i dont find anything, i may attempt to field strip it anyway....just i prefer to know for sure before i start
 
As I recall, it’s a hybrid 1911...pictures of it looks like it would break down like a bushingless 1911 with a Full Length Guide Rod...close to a 3rd gen S&W, if you’ve ever taken one of those down.

So, AFTER VERIFYING EMPTY, you’ll retract the slide until the takedown notch (in the images I posted below, that would be the notch below the “E” and “G” in “OMEGA” on the left side of the slide) aligns with the slide stop release, and press the slide stop out from the right side to the left. The slide then should just come off the front of the frame.

hans, upon further review, you are absolutely right. it appears to be more like a 1911 without the bushing than a beretta 92. if its anything like the colt 1911, should be ok

I bet it disassembles just like a bushing less 1911. Paper clip in the recoil spring to take pressure off or maybe it just pulls right off the front after pushing the retaining pin out.
Interesting gun none the less.
 
finally got a chance to strip and clean the omega and it appears to field strip exactly like the s&w 645/745. it is much simpler than the 1911 with no bushing and you dont have a thread it through a hole in the slide

Cool, great, now go out any enjoy shooting it, that was one of the guns on my wish list back in those days, but nobody could find one.
