Springfield Garrison 1911

I like my garrison. Only thing I wish it had is checkering on the front strap. Other than that it is just about perfect.

Welcome from Southern Illinois.
I have ordered Front Checkered Straps from Wilson Combat Blued or Stainless $10.99. I have had no issues. Loosen your grips and slide the edges under the grip and retighten

Hi,

Here is a review I just did on the Springfield Garrison 1911. I think you'll like it.

Welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest. Thanks for sharing your "good ol' boy" style reviews. I watched your S&W 19 review as well. I like your "let's shoot this thing" approach.

I enjoy my Garrison. I have IWB and OWB holsters for it and I've trained with it but I don't carry it much. Mine has a set of VZ Diamond Back grips. They're a little beefier and grippy-er than the stock walnut grips.

Yes, I like extended magazines too but also have plenty of standard 7 round units.

I'll go check out your YT channel. Thanks for joining us. Do you have any more Springfield units?

Thank you for your indulgence,

Cool video, the bowling pin part brought back some memories from when I first joined my gun club back in the 80’s, we shot bowling pin matches every month, thanks for sharing and welcome from Ohio.
I've used the checkered panel on two different 1911s and they worked fine. I got one for my Ronin lightweight and it was a disaster. The panel slipped around while shooting and marred the cerakote finish on the front strap. The grip panel will not stay put when it's held by slimline grip panels.
