I have a Springfield M1 Garand, the serial number is 628055 how would I find the manufacture date?

FYI never a good idea to put the serial number online. Contact Springfield Customer Service they may be able to help. Also you can Google check manufacturer dates on firearms, there are websites available for just that purpose.

Here's two links that show dates for M1 Garands. Looks like May 1942 if I read them correctly. Serial numbers shown seem to indicate the last serial number produced, for that year/month.
