Springfield Rimfire Rifles?

I’m familiar with Springfield handguns, but not their rifles. That 2020 bolt made in the USA (at Springfield in Illinois I assume??) here looks interesting. I wonder if they have plans to build a rimfire here?

To date, SA's only .22lr rifle is been imported from Turkey.

IMO, there's so many .22lr rifle options out there that SA had to go overseas to offer a product that is cost-competitive with the others.

A lot of the 2020 rimfires have been known to have accuracy problems, mine is ok, not a tack driver but not bad either. i have far more accurate 22's though.

Buy an old Remington, Winchester or just about any other make from years ago. Better built and all steel.

I'm keeping an eye on the Remington 541's and the Kimber 82's on GB. But I need to sell a couple of things first.
I just bought a Christensen Arms Ranger, but I haven't shot it yet.

CZ’s pretty much dominate .22 competition these days. Very accurate rifles as plain or fancy as you choose and prices are decent. Old Remingtons 541 or Winchester 52 are also great rifles. Lastly, an old fashion Ruger 10/22 will shoot pretty decent as well and they’re cheap.

I have a Marlin Firearms Company model 989 M2 that a dear friend purchased from Montgomery Ward in 1966. He gave it to me brand new, unfired, in the box in 2009 including a baby food jar full of ammo that was likely as old as the rifle itself. The rifle is immaculate. It came with a factory installed Weaver C4 scope. I know, aside from sentimental value, it isn't worth much and I have been tempted to fire it many times. Someday one of my grandchildren will end up with it. Hopefully one of them take it out and actually enjoy it for its intended purpose!

Totally agree. my 75+ year old rimfire rifles outshoot my “modern” ones all day long.

Rifles are meant to be shot. Take it out and shoot it!

Yep, I've known several who were very disappointed in theirs.
