Springfield Saint Victor 308 Barrel Nut Wrench Options

Greetings,

I'm sure that this has possibly been discussed before but I'm not able to get a clear answer. I contacted Springfield and was told that the barrel nut on the 308 used a proprietary wrench and that I would need to send my rifle in to get my barrel nut removed. I don't want to send my rifle in so I'm looking for any advice on other options that there may be out there to get the barrel nut off. Has anyone found a wrench or another tool to remove the barrel nut from the AR10 308 Saint Victor?

Nope, did offer to sell me one at all. They said it is proprietary and that they would remove it for me if I sent it in. They mentioned that there are ones that work for the 556 but the 308 tool is exclusive to them only. Which is no good to send it in and have it removed because without the proper tool, how can I properly put it back on...

@Belt Fed nailed it! There are other brands that make that same style/fit like the bcm, so get what you can find. Some have holes and some have slots as both are bcm types. The typical 4-hple is more of a spaner (uses 2 dowels for contact points). Remove the handguard 1st to know which type/style you need.

Looks to me like a good pipe wrench would rip thar off, re-tap those threads an rip away with some bolts screwed in, really, it went on there it will come off!
