Springfield TRP won't close slide with 8 rounds

When I use an 8 round magazine I am not able to close the slide on my TRP. But if I pull the slide back as far as possible, push the magazine in then the gun will load. But If I have 7 rounds in my 8 round magazine, everything loads easily. This is happening with all of my 8 round magazines. Kimber, Springfield, Wilson..

It is almost like the extractor is in the way and stopping the magazine from loading correctly. Also it almost seems like the bullet is pushing the slide so much that it will not close. I am not 100% sure.

Of course when I show my armorer at my gun range - he never has a problem.

The magazine being at max capacity, everything is squished and there is not much more room. With the slide open it is easy to insert because you are not putting even more pressure on the magazine. Think how hard it was to pushdown the last round when loading the magazine, this is the same pressure you are pushing against with the slide closed. When you download one round there is more give. With the slide closed you will have to force the mag in by smacking it up “con ganas”.

the new mag (spring) will take some wear to break in. are the other mags used, as in from another 45acp with multiple loadings? make sure the slide and frame is lubed. slide to frame needs some wear on it to debure microscopically.

This is the first generation TRP and it is about 10 years old.
I think it has something to do with the extractor.
I took the gun to a gun show a couple years ago and had a plastic tag inserted to show the gun was safe. I chose to not sell the gun and just put the gun in my safe. I forgot all about the plastic tag.
A couple years later I pulled the gun out to get new night sights installed and start shooting the gun. That is when I noticed the issues.
With 8 rounds I am not able to move the slide. So something is putting a lot of pressure between the bullet and the slide.
This issue happens with all of my magazines.
I used the same magazines in a colt 1911 and all fired without issues.

I have been watching videos about fixing the extractor.

If I choose to not worry about the extractor and just shoot a lot of rounds - will the extractor bend back to where it should be? I am able to take 8 round magazine - insert 7 rounds and everything is perfect. This is not my daily carry. It is pretty much an expensive range gun.

I don’t think the extractor has anything to do with it. Why do you? And what are you calling the extractor? It doesn’t play a roll in what I am interpreting you describing. As your description is very challenging to understand, let me see if I am clear.
With an empty chamber, if you push a fully loaded 8 round mag in, you find it difficult to slingshot the slide to chamber a round? If the slide is locked to the rear, the 8rd mag is inserted, the slide is released, then what happens? I think this is a very small issue that is quite normal and occurs from a slightly oversized mag catch. I had a very similar issue on my SS TRP. I simply hit the ledge of the mag catch ledge with about four swipes on a small file and fixed it. But, and not trying to be condescending, not sure of your capabilities based on your descriptions.

That “plastic tag” sounds like a safety flag and should have absolutely nothing to do with it. Also, have you actually shot this gun?

Mags? Load them up to maximum capacity for a few days and see if that helps. I had an intermittent mag catch issue with a .45 stainless Garrison, some mags were hard to insert. The mag catch was standard height and I wasn't giving it a full push with the standard thickness grips. The mag catch channel was rough and the mag catch spring to strong. I changed the spring to a lighter Wolff spring. The casting (mim?) marks in the magazine channel were smoothed with 600grit, then mirror polished. Fixed.
