That was the intent of the founders. The federal government was only to deal with the issues of the nation while the states pretty much took care of themselves. Sure ain't like that now.

Well yes for actual assassinations but there were other plots and attempts on presidents from both parties since JFK. None were so overt but besides written and at least one actual letter announcing his intent which was sent to the White House. At least one actually fired over 20 shots at the White House (Bill Clinton was President). Then there were the pipe bombs sent to Hillary.
Im not disagreeing with you. I just think its important to know the facts.
I do think the current LEFT is stirring up radicals (useful idiots) and I think the hate speech that they so hate is much more vehement then in the past. Also the incident in the past were from much more "fringe" elements and todays dupes are more from the common Letfest crowd. Which I tend to place most of the blame on social media and the need for big media ratings. 24 hour news (whatever flavor) hasnt done us any favors

Concur. “Social media” and 24 hour “news” haven’t help at all. Back when you got 30 minutes local news and another 30 Nations with Cronkite or Huntley & Brinkley. That was it. Seriously doubt there’s more than 30 minutes of real news per day. The remaining 23 1/2 hours are talking heads pontificating Their views and commercial. If you turn on ANY “news network” and listen for 15 minutes you’ll get any real news-the rest is fluff and nonsense.
