still living and getting taller

Old_Me

Emissary
last november (2024) my wife bought 2...3" potted Poinsettia plants at the grocery store..

1 died just after december

but this survivor is still living, and growing.

water when soil is dry,

1/4 teaspoon of Epsom Salt once per month

at least 12 hours in a closet, some times, all day long in there

then all of about 8 to 9 hours of sitting on the kitchen window sill

went to seed, but i only have 2, and they are in the fridge......yes.....website said to keep them cold, then plant them in the fall

first time EVER we had ANY Poinsettia plant live past december, especially for one bought at the grocery store, rather than a greenhouse

the red leaves are NOT the same as the originals, and now we are getting green leaves....

thanks..the wife and i cannot believe its still living...

its been repotted once, with ordinary potting soil.

and i did some research, apparently Epsom salt is a very good plant fertilizer......but for potted plants, only about 1/4 teaspoon once a month

this past year, we made room in a dark closet, for it to have at least 12 hours of darkness...somedays, we just leave it in there, especially rainy, or cloudy days, or sometimes we just forget to take it out.

wife only paid $3.99 for each plant.
