We had some crank legislators in Florida introduce similar legislation and others. Those things usually die in committee. I don't think they ever expected those bills to go anywhere but they introduce them so they can tell their constituents they are trying to "do something".

Normally, you get a list of the senators/representatives that it will be sent to and a pre-filled letter stating your opposition to said bill. You can add to the letter or hit submit to get your response sent.
All I got was a pop up begging for money, no your response was sent to, bla bla bla
Therefore I feel nothing is sent without a donation.
