Stopped by the range

I made a quick trip to the range. First time back in 20 days. I only shot 50 rounds.

Started with 5 rounds at 5 yards, 10 rounds on a different target, then went to 25 yards for the rest. The miss in the gray was in the last 5 shots.

The second target I mentioned was for National Shooting Sports Month that my local store/range is participating in. 10 rounds at 5 yards. Not perfect but nothing in life is

yeah, my range has that challenge as well...

i never tried it though.

Good shooting to me. If a bad guy had been wearing that target well where he be now? 😎

Cool! All but one of those are doing damage. Good work. Glad you were able to make it back to the range. With my schedule over the next couple of weeks, I'm hoping to find the time. My range does not have that particular challenge but it has a bowling pin shoot coming up. Those are always fun. Maybe I'll get in on that. Thanks for sharing your fun!

Oops. I knew I forgot something. I was shooting my Gen 6 Glock 19.

Thanks for the encouragement y'all. It means a lot. It's been a long road of recovery over since my strokes in Nov. of '24

I shot 6 rounds with my Taurus model 66 before I called it a day. I'd already taken the above photo beforehand. .357 rounds cost a little more than 115 gr 9mm 🤣

Well, I don't have a back yard, so it's off to the range I must go whenever I want to pop a few. Range is about 12 miles so that's not particularly a big deal. It's just trying to find the time to go and spend a couple hours. But I'm planning real hard to go one day this week. In fact I'm so sure I'm going I loaded a couple hundred rounds this evening in about an hour. I bought a couple of those new 'Micrometer' bullet seating dies from "Lee" Precision and finally got a chance to try them. Damn, I really like these things. They really don't work much different from "Lee's" other regular seating dies, but they're repeatable time after time if you're using the same die for several different loads. And now they've come out with the new 'Micrometer' combination seating and crimping die. It totally eliminates the need for the old standard seating die and opens up one die position if you're using a turret type press or a progressive press. Since I use the "Lee" turret it'll open a die position for me to add a bullet feeder. Still not quite a progressive, but I love the turret. Been using one since sometime back in the early 1980's iirc. I have no connection to "Lee" Precision, financial or otherwise ... but I do truly love their products. I've personally never had a problem with anything from "Lee".

I fell into the micro dies also. Whether pistol or rifle is believe i have them for every cartridge i reload for? I've had some inconsistencies with a few of them, but none are lee. IIRC they're redding on the most part. What I'm looking into is the arbor style as you can (going from memory) can do it by caliber (not cartridge like dies are needed). You get consistent pressure and seating, but get in line as it's 1 at a time. I can still get most of the work done on the progressive (size, prime, charge) then seat via arbor then LFC die.

(y) Maybe I'll look into it one day, but for right now I'm like a puppy with a new 'chew toy' with my new 'micro' seating dies. As long as I record the setting for any particular load, I can dial it right back again and duplicate any of the other loads.

Id start longer then reduce just for possible inconsistencies in bullets
