Story of the .308 Win.

I was shooting 1000 yards and the fellow next to me was shooting for Palma practice...

Bolt action, 28 inch barrel, 12T barrel sitting in a McMillan stock, with very expensive metallic sights. He was shooting 8" groups with no wind and just spanking the rest of the line. 308 Win with 155 grain bullets to stay super sonic to more than the 1000 yards.

A great article on my favorite cartridge. I bought my Tikka M55 Deluxe at the Rhein-Main AB Rod and Gun club in 1984. I put a Sea Adler 3x9 on top of it, it still shoots .6" groups running Remington Core-Lokt 180's today. I've taken game with it all over North America.

My Saint Victor, FN FAL and M1A in .308 are extremely capable rifles for the round.
I enjoy all 3 equally. I dont own any bolt .308s as I have many bolt .270s, so the .308 is my AR round for knocking down game around Texas when not using a bolt gun.
