Switching barrels from threaded to non threaded

I'm interested in switching to non-threaded barrel for xdm elite psp 9mm 4.5 in. I like the tall sights, but have no need for a suppressor. Can I switch to a shorter barrel that fits flush with the end of the slide?

On second thought—measure your barrel, and then subtract the length that sticks out in front of the slide.

I’m not certain if SA measures their barrels by full length, or by slide length.

Most manufacturers now include the chamber in the length. If you measure from the breach block where the end of the chamber meets the slide to an 1/8 past the end of the slide you will have a very good idea of length needed.

All manufacturers include the chamber in barrel length—in semi autos (revolvers are different).

I had thought that but I didn't want to be absolute. For some reason I didn't think that was the case years back for semi autos.
