Tattoos and possible cancer link

 is there anything that doesn't cause cancer? How many of OUR tax $$$$ went into this Swedish study?

There seems to be studies that happen that conflict with each other, but there has not been any conclusive evidence in any study that states that tats lead to cancer.

Despite headlines suggesting a link between tattoos and the risk of lymphoma, there's no convincing evidence it's true. We'll need significantly more research to say much more than that.

A recent study on tattoos and lymphoma does not support a possible association

Well not cancer but had an incarcerated artist in the Feds that they traced about 50 new cases of Hep C to. Allegedly he cleaned the needles but didn’t change ink and transferred Hep C to a lot of folks. He wasn’t able to walk general population after that.

“The best thing we can do for our health, tattoos or not, is to maintain a healthy lifestyle—regular exercise and a nutritious diet,” Nielsen said.

First tattoo in 1976, next two in 1978. In 1983, had two more done by a local in Okinawa (off the grid). Last one in 1989. Couple of them mostly black.

While my nutrition hasn’t been super over those years (except when I was in my weightlifting/bodybuilding phase most of the 80’s), I have regularly exercised over all these years. Still get in 3-4 miles 4-5 times a week on a treadmill at a 3.5-4 mph pace, depending on how my knees feel.

I guess I can thank my long term regular exercise for no cancer to date. I would argue the 8-12 hour shifts I spent on flight lines throughout the late 70s and 80s getting sunburned before the push for sunscreen will result in me eventually having skin cancer LONG before my tattoos will.

Full disclosure, I’ve not eaten a lot of red meat and fried food, though I do cheat once every couple of weeks or so.

I won't have to worry about tattoo's since I don't have any, but all those construction years in refineries and chemical plants already gave me Multiple Meyloma Cancer without a cure, plus old guy prostate cancer and my bad sunburn habits as a young guy.
We all have our crosses to bear and this is mine, but I had a pretty good life, so when my number is up it is what it is...

I was just going to just drop a “like”, but didn’t want it to be misconstrued. It’s a like for your attitude (I think very much the same way). Sorry for your diagnoses.

Let me start by saying, I wish the best for those who have been touched by ANY cancer variation. My stepmother of 48 years survived breast cancer only to be gifted with Parkinsons for the last 10 years of her life. She along with my Father currently reside at the side of our creator.
GOD bless all of us that are dealing with ailments, cancer or otherwise.

I dunno. Only a 4% difference over control is tough. What were statistics of the ones 2 years prior to diagnosis ie how many of them were over the age of 65 and men. On long enough timeline majority of men would have prostate cancer. 🤷‍♂️

Interested to see if this is reproducible with other studies, hopefully funded elsewhere 😂

Right now I would lump it in a long line of unproven pet theories and one off studies that pop up every year or so. Like the heating and cooling water bottles and hair dye that were the rage for a time, but as of yet, are still unproven.

Everytime they announce a new “connection “ I always sort of wonder with all the processed foods, dyes and everything else most are exposed (even if your one tat try’s to minimize there’s still some that gets through to you)

How is that okay a role if any. I’m sure there might be something there as well so many variables it could be hard to pinpoint

I think it all stems from the all mighty dollar. These "researchers" wanting to get grants, donations, and funding. Government wanting an excuse to cease more control via regulations and of course, licensing fees and fines. The medical and pharmaceutical branch wanting to sell more drugs. Or, some ulterior motivate from someone or corporation that stands to gain something by scare people away from or to something else for monetary gains.

No kidding. You may remember I mentioned awhile back that people who get the shingles vaccine are 20% less likely to develop dementia. Turns out that’s because shingles can destroy tissue in your brain. It has nothing to do with the vaccine. They should have said people who get shingles are more likely to get dementia. Seems like this was presented as a study to encourage people to get the vaccine. And they wonder why no one believes them.

Money is probably part of it. I mean Phizer has been around for what 170 years and haven’t cured one disease!

And diabetes insulin is like a 600 Billion a year business because cured people wouldn’t need insulin
