The Byrna "Banana"

Okay...this has been driving me nuts for months now, the "banana" commercials. I remember briefly back many months ago the Byrna stuff being mentioned now and then here on the forum, and lately I have been seeing these "banana" commercials (on FOX and Reelz) and they are making me crazy. Me...I won't rely on a "banana" to save my life. What say you? Does anyone here have experience with these said "bananas"? Pros and cons? I thought I would finally spit it out here and see what you guys think.

Apparently it is a brand of "less lethal" C02 powered self defense launcher of sorts. I have seen it mentioned here a couple of times and didn't really pay much attention to it. What I DO remember about what was mentioned wasn't very positive, so when I started seeing these commercials where they substitute "banana" for Byrna, and for the price they want for one...I will stick with what I know will work, thank you very much. :giggle:

I just dont know why anyone would want one. If lethal force is required USE IT. Theres no points for squeaking by. I understand a TASER (a real Taser not a stun gun) because some jurisdictions dont regulate them but pepper spray no longer seems as effective on guys that have tasted it a few times

A buddy of mine bought two of these thing-a-bobs. He gave one to his ex-wife, kept the other. He bought some CS type of pepper ball and some hard nylon balls. With a fresh CO2 cartridge he stated it will do some damage. I cannot state how much damage personally. He is a big guy and straight up said that he wants no part of those nylon balls after seeing the indentions in some scrap 2x8's he had tested them on.

I'll take his word😉

So, they don't shoot bananas? Now a potato gun...that would hurt.

OK but if its that powerful then Im betting most places would put it in the same category as a handgun, so why not use a gun and not have to worry if plastic balls sting enough to change someones disposition or just **** him off until he gives you an enema with it

Which are now considered a destructive device according to the ATF or they were at one time.
Yea buddy had a lot of fun with several of those 😆
Maybe??? (which is to say no they arent) Have you ever heard of anyone actually charged with possession of a DD for having a potato gun OR for that matter for having a DD for having a paintball gun because the bore is shotgun size and it fires a single projectile and sometimes full auto

If guys want to worry about their kids doing hard time for making destructive devices to launch potatoes, fine but I for one am more upset about still having to submit form 1s and 4s for a NO TAX item
