SinaIoa runs things around Nogales and of course has presence north of the border...But I don't think it's the Cartels. Not unless somebody in that family owes one of their affiliates a great deal of money. Otherwise they don't need the money or the publicity or the massive law enforcement presence.

But a person or group with ties to Sinaloa pulling a rogue caper. Anything's possible.

I think it's funny how the news media is scrambling after every little scrap of chicken feed no matter how irrelevant or redundant it is...because right now they don't have a lot to talk about.

Agreed. This doesnt feel like cartels.

They made such a big deal about the fist note being so well written. Its sad that we've reached the state that writing a well formed note is surprising; which makes me wonder if it wasnt AI assisted. "Hey Siri, write me a kidnapping note..."

The last contact note saying for $65,000 they would identify the suspect was an interesting twist, and you have to love the Mother-in-law that said the guy in the doorbell video was her son-in-law. You gotta wonder what Thanksgiving dinner is gonna be like??? but hey a reward is a reward.

IMO, it's a maintenance person.

Yeah. Very likely.

But something about this whole affair makes me think of the movie Fargo. I mean, the way the guy wears his holster. Rubbing plants on the doorbell cam. Not my idea of a pro. And the ski mask reminds me of Mexican professional wrestlers. Los Luchadores enmascarados.

I heard an interview with a retired FBI profiler who brought up an interesting point.

This could be an obsessed Savannah Guthrie stalker unable to get hold of the object of his obsession, so abducting someone close to that object to get their attention and hence initiate an intimate bond, however twisted. There are a few times when Savannah Guthrie has made statements as if she almost knows who this person is and is trying to placate him. Oddly enough, one of her statements contained an exact quote from the movie Silence of the Lambs.

I mean, the way the guy was geared up, cheap lopsided holster too big for the gun, worn at a weird angle, the Walmart stuff, trying to rub plants on the camera? That's just goofy.

I guess it's possible. John Hinkley shot Ronald Reagan to impress Jodie Foster. How much sense does that make?
