Interestingly enough this sounds just like the device described in James Rollins' Sigma Force novel "The Black Order". In the book, it too was smuggled out of Germany by the SS at the end of WW II. I have to wonder if this is where Rollins got his inspiration from?

Just saw a show about this within the last couple of days. They think its in Poland.

You have to wonder. The Germans did amazing things during that war. Early in the war the Brits and the Russians still both had biplanes in active service (heck Bismarck was torpedo’d by Fairy Swordfish biplane torpedo bombers that flee like 75 mph) yet in a couple years the Germans had operation Jet aircraft in service ( along with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles etc. Plus heavy research into nukes, intercontinental bombers, submarine launched ballistic missiles, ICBM’s etc. I’ve read the war was originally to have started in 1945, by which time Donita would have had more than 165 subs at sea (the most he ever had was 60 some) and these advanced weapons would have been in place. If Der Fuhrer hadn’t jumped the gun there’s a decent chance we’d be speaking German today…
