The new M1 Garand by CMP

Recusant

Hellcat
Seems to be a market for new M1 Garands. Not sure if one would be better off buying a beater and rebuilding it with a commerical barrel or bite the bullet and fork out the $1900 to buy a new M1 Garand. I have several that I rebuilt over 20 years ago and even then getting decent parts that were correct for the serial number of the receiver took lots of time and patience.

Precisely. World War Two was won by kids the same age I see working at the grocery store today that can't set their phones down long enough to stock the shelves. It was the backbone of the Fighting Men that sacrificed so we can live the easy life we live. I owe it to their memory to have one to shoot and teach the next generation about. See how easy I can talk myself into a new rifle? Now if I can only convince my wife......

Yea I saw that earlier, and for purists like me I'd call it a M1 Garand look-a-like clone since aside from some "gut" parts almost everything else is non-USGI commercial. All this news from CMP means the USGI surplus bucket is almost empty.

Fortunately all my M1 Garands and 1903A3s are 100% USGI, although not all correct.

The days of USGI M1Gs are almost all gone as are the 1903/A3's and the 1911's since they're (CMP) is already getting 1911s from Tisas.

I'm interested to see how much of a value you get for the price.

There's a finite number of M1 parts, ALL M1 parts............

As intrigued as I am, I'll not be in the first, second, third, or tenth group to buy one. Just like every "new" gun, there's gonna be teething trouble, and growing pains.......

But we'll see, won't we......
