The New VC-35B Air Force One.

Anybody other than me wonder why the “new” aircraft are not 777’s instead 747’s which are out of production. Why aren’t we using the newest”proven design”?

higher need for a lot of capacity/interior room. the 747 offers a lot more room for people, gear, CIC and other necessities over a 777. why so many cargo airlines fly the 747 still.

Maybe the "bridge" VC-25B didn't have all the defensive equipment needed for flying over France. :unsure:
 
The 747 has 4 engines. Lose an engine and it's a 25% loss not a 50% loss. And it also doesn't leave the plane quite as unbalanced with the loss of one engine. So I've heard.
