So then I'm thinking...do I really need a gun like one I have already? Well no, but it has lots of improvements, so they say. So nah, but let's check prices. Nope. But the seed was planted :rolleyes:. Anyway, I watched a couple of reviews on it and wandered into a website. I found a VP9A1 K for about $200 more than a conversion kit would have cost, and significantly less than MSRP. Needless to say, I lost the struggle. But after reading the thread @Lab4Us posted about needing an intervention, I don't feel bad for throwing money at another gun. To borrow his phraseology, I merely "made another significant donation to the gun industry" 😉.

Got it stripped down as I'm writing this. I'm going to swap out the back strap and side panels after I clean it. It will join me at the range tomorrow.

ever since BassBob spoke highly of the VP9, i have been wanting to shoot one. my range has at least 1, but i continually forget to rent it, and for me, it'll be a $5 rental over the $10 for non members...

i'll just take a box of my own ammo, they cost too much there.

i gotta really make a note (a literal note) to rent one.

A light is good for clearing the woods for a downed hog or maybe such outdoor stuff. My home interior lights are fine and I dont go clearing houses or chasing down bad guys over a fence like police.
I took all my lights off and put them on rifles that hog hunt. Found i didnt like them.
They serve a purpose for police or security for sure, but other than my hog pistol, its not my jam. Dead weight and size

On the indoor range I went to, when you rent their guns, you can’t use your own ammo, they want you to buy and use theirs,

You can’t some good deals on the original optic ready VP9s. The new A1s you have to shop around because some places are selling them for close to a grand. I got mine for $700.

yeah, i will easily spend over a grand on a super nice 1911, in 45 ACP of course, cuz it's God's caliber...but i cannot fathom that cost for a 9mm.

i once posted here, that i try not to go over the $800 point for a 9mm

infact, if i recall, without looking at ALL my sales receipts, i don't believe i ever spent over $700 for a 9mm..

but given prices these days, one (hopefully not me) can easily spend over a grand...for a 9mm.....
