Luv my Swede m/38.

One of the true gems of the surplus world is the Swedish Mauser. These rifles combine old-world craftsmanship with modern ballistics.

Mines' just like this one.

I had a full size and it was a great shooting little rifle. If I could ever find a carbine I'd be sorely tempted -even being pretty much out of the gun market.

I have the m96 and a 96/38.
Wish someone would have drilled and tapped either because I will not do it.
But then again I can no longer shoot open sites.
Very well made elegant service rifles.
Still have 200 original service cartridges stashed.

There was a "small bore" military rifle push but at the time powders that could make 6.5 and 6mm service cartridges excel were not invented.
They were poopooed at then but the 6.5 carcano and 6.5 Japanese are about all that was needed then or now with all major power's main cartridges needlessly over powered.

Another great one was the 7x57.
I own 3 military rifles in that one as well.
