Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled “The Thompson Submachine Gun” and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/thompson-submachine-gun/.

Design could never handle that round…..I'll take it in 10mm Auto.
The drum(s), both L (50-round) and C (100-round), rattled loudly, making them unsuitable for military field use. While they fed well, the drums were awkward. The stick magazines were far better for general purposes.Which fed better the drum or clip?

I was going to post this very statement. The Thompson can handle it, but it would climb like crazy. The Vector in 10mm handles the cartridge in full-auto far better. When 10mm came out Auto Ordinance built them in 10mm to compete for an FBI contract.
They worked, but the MP5 won out.
On a side note, HK made MP5s in 10mm as well.......
