I used to think the Jack Bauer (Lap Top) bag was discreet enough to carry a PDW or small SMG around town. Those were the days when brief cases were phasing out but professionals still needed to carry papers and maybe a laptop. Today when I see a guy with a "bag" especially a fanny pack size bag I KNOW what hes got in the bag. Ladies get a little bit more latitude (but not much).
Its funny but Im less suspicious of back packs (day bag size) then the smaller bags. I bet you could walk around with a violin or guitar case and attract less threat attention.

I sometimes still use a fanny pack for concealed carry. When I carried a SA XDs .45 and later, my HK VP9SK, it was in a fanny pack. No one even so much as batted an eye when I carried with it. Now I mostly carry a J-frame in a pocket holster. I guess if I had caught you eyeballing my fanny pack, I would have figured you were sweet on me. Or packing heat yourself. Lucky we have not run into each other. Might have been a Mexican standoff at Walmart.
