Eat healthy, exercise regularly, workout, build your muscles, go running, long distance bicycling, die anyway.
These folks do stuff the human body was never intended to do while using synthetics to obtain that ability and then folks are surprised when their body conks out. Play stupid games you win stupid prizes. Good friends son got into the “iron man” stuff a few years ago. Lifted massive weights. I told him “James you are going to pay for this-your body won’t be able to hold up”. Now at 40 he has major back issues and last month he tore a tendon in his leg….

Chinese steroids, what could go wrong. Co worker was heavily into the body building scene decades ago, healthy as a horse. Heart problems caught up with him too. Just like smoking, the health problems aren’t coincidental.

I hear about a sad case like this and ask myself "What if you had died at 30?". Good Lord. I knew nothing by then. Now that I am twice 30, I am so grateful that I was granted the opportunity to learn so much....

I used to move all sorts of heavy weight, but I used the appropriate tools and equipment to do so. Those cranes and lifts were fantastic for such and I never had a workman's comp claim in my crew.

I have zero interest in professional sports and am amazed at the numbers of silly fans, worse still the families that push there kids into the games. How man colleges are no longer learning institutions but just minor league training camps...

Sports programs are a minor footnote in the overall decline of higher education .
And it depends on the sport . Football and basketball are de facto the minor leagues for the NFL and NBA .
For baseball , anyone actually good , with aspirations is playing in the Minor Leagues instead of going to college . A friend used a full ride baseball scholarship to pay for a CJ degree .
