Trapdoor carbine

OK, I'm not really in favor of getting old historic guns restored but sometimes its warranted. A guy I used to work with offered me this ragged trapdoor carbine for I think $75. I didn't really want it but he had found me some good deals in the past so I said sure. It sat in my vault several years before I decided to see what, if anything could be done with it. The guy I contacted was, I think, The Old Gun Doctor somewhere out west. He did tell me it left the factory as a rifle and was converted to a carbine sometime later. Before!

No expert but I'm fairly sure you'll find the rear sight is NOT on backwards. ;)
Sweet gun. Love my 1888 Trapdoor, just don't shoot it much. All I will use is Black powder and cast lead. I'm just getting too lazy cast bullets or clean it like it deserves.
Thank you. I'm pretty sure it was but I may have already turned it around before taking these pictures. I'm out of town so I can't go look.
