Trijicon RMR and AOS Plate Question

Lab4Us

Custom
I soon have a TRP CC AOS .45 arriving. I already have a Trijicon RMR Type 2 to put on it. I also already have the A14B RMR plate (ordered it a year ago when I ordered my Emissary .45 AOS - decided I didn’t need an optic on the Emissary (so now I have a 507CX2 sitting in a closet 😂).

The AOS plate has 2 screws in the bag with the plate. Everything I’ve read says I use the screws holding cover plate to gun to mount plate to slide - easy enough.

Where I get lost is how I will mount the RMR to the RMR plate. Do I use the screws that came with the AOS plate? Do I use screws in the RMR box? Do I need different screws? I have literally read all three of those solutions are the correct one, so again 😂.

I’ve mounted lots of Holosun optics and usually just order screws I need when I decided which optic I was mounting on which gun. Holosun screws and Holosun fitment guides are everywhere that tell you exactly what screws you need for what gun. Trijicon not so much.
What I am hoping is one of you folks have mounted an RMR on a TRP CC AOS and can give me the correct answer! And yes, I know I could probably call Trijicon, but where’s the fun in that?

Congrats on thst pistol. I have the CC AOS and it is the perfect pistol for me. Fit and function are outstanding
I would use the screws that came with the RMR. Thread them into the mounting plate with fingers first to be sure the threads match. Then the question is are the screws the right length? When I first mounted my Holosun to the AOS plate on mine, the short screws were too short and kept backing out under recoil. The longer screws in the box were too long and bottomed out on the slide before getting tight. I solved the problem by taking a little off the end of the long screws with a Dremel, some locktite and problem solved. The recommended torque on the screws that mount the AOS plate to the slide is 25 in. Lbs, but the torque called for mounting the Holosun to the AOS plate was only 15 in. Lbs. Your RMR may call for different torque numbers. Good luck with it, you are going to love that pistol.
